SPRINGVILLE — A Orem woman was charged over the weekend with hitting an employee of an antiques store with her car after stealing sports cards.
Chelsea Lee Kerr, 34, is charged in 4th District Court with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.
On Aug. 6, Kerr went into an antiques store in Springville and picked up a few football trading cards for sale. Police originally said they were baseball cards.
As Kerr began to leave the store, an employee followed her to the parking lot believing she had not paid for the sports cards, the charges state.
“(The employee) followed (Kerr) to her car and began to take pictures of her license plate. (Kerr) put the car reverse and struck (the employee). The car came back forward and hit (the employee) again who landed on the hood of the car,” charging documents state.
The employee rolled off the hood of the car as it turned out of the parking lot. She suffered minor injuries.
Using the license plate picture taken on the employee’s phone, police were able to track down Kerr, who was arrested at her home.
