The Israeli military has begun preparing to withdraw from interior areas of Gaza following the implementation of the Gaza Peace Agreement, Arab media reported on Thursday.
Under the first phase of the ceasefire deal, Israeli troops are expected to pull back to agreed demarcation lines, marking the start of a phased disengagement process.
The peace accord — formally signed by Israel and Hamas — includes provisions for an end to hostilities, the release of hostages and prisoners, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the agreement represents a comprehensive framework aimed at stabilizing the region.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a security cabinet meeting to officially ratify the deal. U.S. media reports suggest that the release of Israeli hostages is expected between Saturday and Monday.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced via social media that, under the peace agreement, all hostages would soon be freed and that Israel would withdraw its forces on a mutually agreed timeline. Trump and Netanyahu also held a phone call to congratulate each other on the deal’s success.
