Punjab Police Extends Financial Aid to Families of Martyrs for Home Construction

The Punjab Police organized a ceremony at the Central Police Office Lahore to distribute financial assistance cheques and laptops to the families and children of police martyrs, under the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar.
During the event, Rs. 8 million in financial aid was distributed among the families of 16 police martyrs from Lahore and other districts, with each family receiving Rs. 500,000 to support the construction of their homes.
Addressing the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted that since 2017, a total of Rs. 76.5 million has been granted to the families of 42 pre-2017 martyrs for house construction. Additionally, 737 families have been allotted residential plots, while 20 families have received apartments as part of the welfare initiatives.
The IG also distributed laptops among 22 children of police martyrs pursuing higher education across various districts, including Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Okara, Multan, Jhang, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Dr. Anwar noted that 88 laptops have been provided to the children of martyrs this year alone, bringing the total number distributed over the past two and a half years to 211. He reaffirmed the department’s ongoing commitment to supporting the families of fallen officers through educational assistance and housing support.
The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG SPU & Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, and other senior police officials.
