Lahore, Pakistan — The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) is compiling data on finalized export orders following the successful conclusion of a three-day international carpet exhibition in Lahore, which drew strong participation from foreign buyers.
PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed expressed deep satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the event had “yielded results far beyond expectations.” They thanked the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for its extensive support in organizing the exhibition.
During a review meeting, attended by Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Carpet Training Institute Chairperson Ejaz-ur-Rehman, and other senior industry figures, participants lauded the exhibition’s organizing team for their effective planning and smooth management.
Atiq-ur-Rehman and Ahmed said the event’s success had brought renewed optimism to Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry amid challenging economic conditions. They added that serious international buyers had placed significant export orders, with official figures to be released once compilation is complete.
Looking ahead, the PCMEA leadership confirmed Pakistan’s participation in three major international exhibitions early next year — the Carpet Expo in Türkiye, Heimtextil, and Domotex in Germany — and urged TDAP to provide maximum support to help boost export earnings.
The association also decided to send goodwill letters to foreign companies that participated in the Lahore exhibition to strengthen trade relations and sustain long-term business partnerships.
