KARACHI: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the government’s ongoing crackdown is not targeted at any single organization, but against any individual or group found involved in armed activity or unauthorized fundraising.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Karachi, the minister emphasized that the government is acting strictly within the law to maintain peace and stability across the country. “Whoever picks up arms or collects donations illegally will face action — regardless of affiliation,” Naqvi said.
He added that Pakistan’s recent security successes were made possible “due to the leadership of the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir,” praising their coordinated efforts in ensuring national stability. “We are achieving results — all we need now is unity,” he said.
Addressing Karachi’s situation, Naqvi noted that law and order operations and development projects in the city were progressing rapidly and would be completed soon. He underscored that the government’s priority is both security and urban development, ensuring peace as well as economic revival in Pakistan’s largest metropolis.
