LAHORE: A high-level meeting of the District Coordination Committee (DCC) Kasur was held in the Committee Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Provincial Minister for Law and Convener DCC Kasur.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Malik Rasheed Ahmad Khan and Sheikh Saad Waseem, MPAs Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas Khan, Chaudhry Mahmood Anwar, Muhammad Naeem Safdar Ansari, and Chaudhry Ahsan Raza Khan, along with heads of all district departments.
Deputy Commissioner Kasur Imran Ali briefed the committee on the performance of the district administration, ongoing development projects, and governance initiatives. The District Police Officer (DPO) presented a detailed report on the law and order situation, crime prevention efforts, and measures for public safety.
The Chief Executive Officer (Health) shared updates on healthcare facilities, vaccination drives, and maternal and child health programs, while the CEO (Education) briefed the committee on school development, teacher attendance, and quality enhancement initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing development schemes under the “Saraken Bahal – Punjab Khushhal Program” (Roads Rehabilitation & Prosperous Punjab Initiative). The XEN Highways and Deputy Director (Development) provided updates on road and infrastructure projects across the district.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said that under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is taking effective steps to promote good governance, stability, and public welfare across the province.
He directed that all development schemes be completed within stipulated timelines, emphasizing stronger inter-departmental coordination for improved service delivery. Lists of ongoing projects, he said, must be shared with respective MPAs. He further instructed that all road repair and construction projects be finalized in consultation with local representatives, directing the XEN Highways to complete the patchwork of Kot Radha Kishan Road within 15 days.
The minister instructed the DPO Kasur to uphold the rule of law and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, stressing that no innocent person should be arrested based on religious or social affiliations.
He also directed XEN LESCO to take strict action against electricity theft, while ensuring that power supply to the general public remains unaffected. The DSP (Traffic) was instructed to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws and maintain smooth vehicular flow across the district.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan reaffirmed that the District Coordination Committee will continue to monitor all departments to promote transparent governance, efficient service delivery, and sustainable development.
He added that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab is progressing toward stability and prosperity. Committee members appreciated the district administration’s performance in flood-affected areas, expressing satisfaction with the rescue and relief operations.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Health, SNGPL, LWMC, Irrigation, Rescue 1122, Revenue, WAPDA, Agriculture, Environment, Social Welfare, and other departments, along with Assistant Commissioners of Kasur, Chunian, Pattoki, and Kot Radha Kishan.
