LAHORE: In line with the “Digital Punjab Vision” of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Housing Department has launched a state-of-the-art WASA Survey App aimed at transforming the monitoring and data management systems of the Water and Sanitation Agencies (WASA) across the province.
Developed by WASA Lahore’s IT experts under the supervision of Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, the app is designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in field operations.
According to a spokesperson for the Housing Department, the new app enables real-time data collection, geo-tagging, and field monitoring, allowing for automated analytical and operational reports to assist in data-driven decision-making. All WASA agencies will have access to a centralized digital dashboard to directly track survey results and performance metrics.
The official explained that the system will also facilitate the determination of commercial water tariffs based on accurate, law-compliant surveys, ensuring fair and transparent billing processes.
“The Punjab WASA Survey App marks a major leap toward digital governance,” the spokesperson stated. “By leveraging real-time data, administrative decision-making will become more accurate, responsive, and efficient.”
Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal emphasized that the initiative reflects Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to modernizing public institutions through technology. “Digital transformation is key to ensuring better service delivery, transparency, and citizen trust,” he added.
The rollout of the WASA Survey App across Punjab signifies a pivotal step in strengthening digital infrastructure and smart governance within the province’s public utilities sector.
