LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, in collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Organization, organized an awareness walk and seminar on Breast Cancer under the theme “Together We Can Defeat Breast Cancer” at its City Campus on Friday.
The walk was led by Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, while Dr Omar Aftab, CEO Pink Ribbon Pakistan; Dr Jawaria Ali Khan; and Medical Officer Dr Shamsa Rauf Rao, along with a large number of students and faculty members, participated in the event.
Following the walk, a seminar was held where speakers highlighted the objectives of the breast cancer awareness campaign and discussed the crucial role of diet and lifestyle in prevention and management. They also addressed topics such as early diagnosis, treatment techniques, and patient care.
The purpose of the seminar was to spread awareness among **students, faculty members, and the general public—particularly women—**about the importance of early detection and timely treatment of breast cancer. The session also aimed to inform attendees about modern diagnostic methods and management strategies, emphasizing that early diagnosis can significantly improve survival outcomes.
