ANKARA (October 28, 2025): The United Kingdom and Türkiye have signed a $10.6 billion defense agreement for the sale of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, marking a significant step forward in defense cooperation between the two NATO allies.
The agreement was formally signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during a ceremony in Ankara.
Officials said the deal will boost Türkiye’s air combat capabilities while expanding the UK’s defense export portfolio. The Eurofighter Typhoon, developed by a consortium including the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain, is one of Europe’s most advanced multirole fighter aircraft.
Defense analysts note that the agreement underscores growing strategic and industrial collaboration between London and Ankara and could further strengthen NATO’s collective defense posture in the region.
