Lahore: Pakistan defeated South Africa by four wickets in the third and final T20 International at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, to seal the three-match series 2–1.
Chasing a target of 140 runs, Pakistan reached the mark in the 19th over with six wickets down. Captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that proved fruitful early on.
South Africa struggled from the start as Shaheen Afridi dismissed two batters in the opening over. Despite brief resistance from Reeza Hendricks (34), Corbin Bosch (30) and Ferreira, the Proteas could only post 139 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and debutant Usman Tariq claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Pakistan’s chase began shakily as Saim Ayub departed for a duck and Sahibzada Farhan scored 19 before being dismissed. However, Babar Azam’s composed 68-run innings and a steady partnership with skipper Salman Ali Agha (33) guided Pakistan to victory.
Pakistan achieved the target in 19 overs, finishing at 140 for 6, and secured the series win by 2–1.
