Lahore: A local court in Lahore has summoned YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as “Dikki Bhai,” along with other accused, for indictment proceedings in a case related to the promotion of an illegal gambling application.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo presided over the hearing, during which Dikki Bhai, Arob Jatoi, OP Baba, and Subhan appeared in court and marked their attendance. The court distributed copies of the case challan to the accused and ordered them to appear again on November 17 for formal indictment.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had earlier submitted the case challan to the court.
According to the NCCIA, Dikki Bhai and his co-accused allegedly promoted illegal online gambling apps through their YouTube channels, encouraging users to participate in prohibited online betting activities. The case was registered by NCCIA Lahore on behalf of the state on the night of August 17.
The charges against the accused include sections 13 (electronic forgery), 14 (electronic fraud), 25 (spamming), and 26 (spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, as well as sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
If convicted, the accused could face severe penalties, including imprisonment and hefty fines under Pakistan’s cybercrime and criminal laws.
