KARACHI: A startling revelation has emerged from Pakistan as Hanif Gohar, Chairman of Air Karachi and a prominent businessman, has claimed that gold deposits worth approximately $636 billion have been discovered in the soil of Tarbela Dam.
Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Gohar stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir have already been briefed on the matter, and that the Army Chief has given an immediate and positive response.
According to Gohar, a team of divers collected soil samples from within the dam, which were later analyzed in a laboratory. The study reportedly confirmed traces of gold in the samples. Based on the concentration of gold and the estimated cubic footage of gold-containing soil, analysts calculated the potential value of the deposits to be around $636 billion.
He further emphasized that the removal and processing of the dam’s soil is now crucial to harness these mineral resources, which could have a significant impact on Pakistan’s economy if verified and extracted successfully.
