A grand commemorative ceremony marking Iqbal Day was held at Hidayat Ismail School to pay tribute to the Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool (PBUH). Students delivered inspiring speeches highlighting Iqbal’s life, teachings, and philosophy. Through captivating tableaus and dramatic performances, they presented key themes such as Khudi (selfhood), the philosophy of action, and the ideal of the Shaheen (falcon).
Teachers also participated enthusiastically, presenting Iqbal’s renowned poems including Shikwa, Jawab-e-Shikwa, Aqal aur Dil, and Maan ka Khawab. A lively Bait Bazi competition added color to the ceremony, where students passionately recited verses from Iqbal’s famous poetry, earning rounds of applause from the audience.
Addressing the ceremony, Principal Dr. Masood Sohail said,
> “Iqbal’s thoughts are a beacon of light for all of us. We should make his philosophy of selfhood and message of action an integral part of our lives.”
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and prizes to outstanding performers. The event not only honored Allama Iqbal’s legacy but also inspired students to embrace his message of self-awareness, purpose, and resilience in their lives.
