ISLAMABAD: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has expelled Senator Ahmed Khan from the party after he voted in favor of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
According to an official statement issued by the JUI, the decision was made because Ahmed Khan’s vote went against the party policy.
The party has demanded that Ahmed Khan immediately resign from his Senate seat. The statement further warned that if he fails to do so, the JUI will approach the Election Commission for his disqualification.
It may be recalled that the Senate recently passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment with 64 votes in favor and none against.
