KARACHI: Renowned Islamic scholar and President of Wifaqul Madaris, Mufti Taqi Usmani, has said that granting lifelong protection from judicial proceedings to any individual is contrary to both the spirit of Islam and the Constitution.
In his statement, Mufti Taqi Usmani emphasized that “no person, regardless of the position they hold, can be above the law or beyond judicial accountability in Islam.”
He further remarked that such immunity would be a matter of great shame for the nation, urging members of parliament not to take such a sinful step upon themselves.
