Lahore (Pakistan) — Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has reaffirmed that corruption in any form will not be tolerated within the police department and directed that immediate action be taken on every complaint received.
He issued these directives while presiding over a performance review meeting of the Iqbal Town and Saddar Divisions held at the Capital City Police Headquarters, where detailed discussions were held on crime control measures, quality of investigation, and other professional matters.
Expressing satisfaction over current crime control efforts, CCPO Kamyana instructed officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Sikh pilgrims arriving to commemorate the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The meeting also reviewed ongoing efforts concerning the repatriation of illegally residing Afghan nationals.
He directed all relevant officers to intensify the crackdown against illegal Afghan residents and warned of strict action against individuals found renting out houses, shops, or properties to such persons. Kamyana further emphasized strict enforcement of the Tenancy Act and Loudspeaker Act, warning that any dissemination of hate material would invite immediate legal consequences.
The CCPO reiterated that indiscriminate action would be taken against individuals involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, and other unlawful acts. He stated that hosts of wedding events where aerial firing occurs will be held accountable, and directed police to make public awareness announcements through mosques about the dangers of such reckless practices.
Kamyana urged all officers to play an active and people-centered role in providing swift justice and relief to citizens, reinforcing public confidence in law enforcement.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Tassawar Iqbal, SSP (Discipline) Hassan Javed Bhatti, along with SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs, and investigation in-charges from the Iqbal Town and Saddar Divisions.
