LAHORE – The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League has reaffirmed its commitment to the Constitution of Pakistan, peaceful political engagement and the democratic process. In a detailed policy statement issued to the media, the party’s vice president, Hafiz Talha Saeed, emphasized that his party is dedicated to pursuing an Islamic welfare state through lawful and non-violent political struggle.
Hafiz Talha stated that the party “unequivocally rejects all forms of violence, extremism and hatred,” adding that the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League is a democratic political entity committed to countering threats to the country’s stability through peaceful and constitutional means. He said the party’s renewed declaration comes in response to “unsubstantiated claims and a vilification campaign” targeting the organization.
Explaining the party’s ideological roots, Hafiz Talha said it was founded on the belief that political freedoms, rights, and reforms must be achieved through debate, electoral participation, and peaceful protest. “We believe in the power of ideas, not violence; in persuasion, not coercion; in peace, not terror,” he said.
He stressed that Pakistan’s progress depends on a healthy democracy and strong economy—both of which require competition of ideas and adherence to the law. Addressing regional and international issues, Hafiz Talha said Pakistanis have a political and constitutional right to advocate for the rights of Kashmiris under UN resolutions, and that this right will always be exercised peacefully within Pakistan’s constitutional framework. He called on the international community to respect Pakistanis’ right to oppose “unlawful occupation and aggression” in Kashmir without questioning their commitment to peace.
Rejecting extremism and militancy, Hafiz Talha condemned the use of violence, intimidation or foreign-sponsored destabilization in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He rejected extremist ideologies and disinformation that undermine Pakistan’s democratic institutions. “We stand against all forms of bigotry, including those based on race, religion, national origin, or political belief,” he said.
Inviting political parties and citizens to join the party’s vision, Hafiz Talha reaffirmed commitment to the Constitution, independence of the judiciary and integrity of the electoral process. He urged political leaders to elevate national discourse and engage in good-faith dialogue on economic, security and governance challenges.
He described the party’s vision as one of unity, progress and shared prosperity, saying that the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League will embed these principles into its platform, communications and candidate selection process from leadership to grassroots levels.
Outlining the party’s economic and social agenda, Hafiz Talha said the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League is committed to expanding economic opportunities, universal education and healthcare, women’s empowerment, agricultural development, and building a just and equitable society guided by the ideology of Pakistan.
Concluding the statement, he reaffirmed: “We believe in the power of political dialogue and remain committed to serving the people of Pakistan.”
