LAHORE: Medical professionals, teachers, and dedicated experts never truly retire—their service to humanity continues throughout their lives. This message resonated deeply at a dignified farewell ceremony held in honour of Prof. Dr. Khizar Hayat Gondal, Head of the Urology Department at Lahore General Hospital (LGH), as colleagues and students celebrated his decades of contribution to medical education and patient care.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) Principal, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, described teachers as the “true beauty of society” and emphasized that retiring with honour is a profound milestone for any physician and mentor. He praised Prof. Gondal for elevating the Urology Department to international standards by introducing modern medical technologies, promoting a patient-friendly environment, and organizing training workshops for young urologists.
Colleagues noted that patients travelled from across Punjab and other provinces to seek treatment from Prof. Gondal, consistently expressing satisfaction with the care they received.
