Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Sports, Faisal Ayyub Khokhar, chaired an important meeting of the Sports Department on Monday, where a comprehensive review of the Annual Development Programme (ADP), ongoing sports infrastructure projects, and preparations for the National Games 2025 was conducted.
During the briefing, officials informed the minister that work on ADP schemes is progressing at a fast pace, and tenders for 12 major sports projects will be issued soon. The meeting also discussed measures to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing initiatives across the province.
Regarding the National Games 2025, officials shared that the Punjab contingent will depart on December 4 to participate in the event. Minister Khokhar directed that all Punjab teams be provided with top-level coaching, modern training facilities and essential support to ensure strong performances at the national level.
He emphasized that upgrading sports infrastructure under the ADP remains a top priority of the Punjab government. He instructed officials to ensure strict monitoring of all projects, stressing that quality sports facilities for youth are central to the government’s vision.
The minister noted that once major sports complexes are completed, they will be opened to the public without delay. The meeting also discussed recommendations to ensure Punjab’s successful participation in the upcoming National Games.
The session was attended by Secretary Sports Muzaffar Khan Sial, DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzal Chaudhry, and senior officials from the department.
