LAHORE, PAKISTAN: The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) approved four major development schemes worth Rs3.8 billion during its 46th meeting, held at the AKS Auditorium, P&D Board Complex, under the chairmanship of Acting Chairman Planning and Development Board, Rafaqat Ali.
The approved schemes include:
1. Widening and Carpeting of Metal Road from Kotla Musa Khan to Kachi Mori and Flyover at Firdous Cinema Phatak, Tehsil Ahmedpur East, District Bahawalpur, at an estimated cost of Rs1,568.882 million.
2. Rehabilitation/Reconstruction of Road from Dhamonke to Dhalakey Goraya via Wadala, Rampur, Gopipur, Siyan and Links (22.86 km), District Sialkot, at an estimated cost of Rs836 million.
3. Extension of Water Resources Faisalabad City Phase-II (French Funded) – position paper for extension in gestation period approved.
4. Transformation of Agricultural Information through Digital Inclusion & Dissemination – position paper for creation of posts and purchase of vehicles approved.
5. Mobile Pest Surveillance Squads and Transformation in Anti-Adulteration of Pesticide System for Sustainable Agriculture (2025-26 to 2027-28) – position paper for creation of posts and purchase of vehicles approved.
6. Construction of Regional Office and Facilitation Centre of PPSC at Multan, at an estimated cost of Rs1,112.459 million.
7. Economic Prospective of Coal, Iron Ore, Limestone, and Other Industrial Minerals in Koh-e-Suleman, DG Khan Division (PC-II), at an estimated cost of Rs280 million.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Economist, Members of P&D Board, and representatives of relevant departments. These projects aim to improve infrastructure, water resources, agricultural sustainability, and regional development across Punjab.
