LAHORE — The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore has secured the 155th position in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Ranking 2026, the university announced on Friday. UVAS also ranked first among public-sector universities in Pakistan and fourth overall among Pakistani institutions included in the list.
In a separate achievement, Dr Muhammad Suleman, a faculty member from the Department of Pathology at UVAS, received a Gold Medal from Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique during the 35th Annual International Conference on Family Medicine.
The award, conferred by the Academy of Family Physicians of Pakistan, recognises Dr Suleman’s sustained contributions to medicine and public health from 2019 to 2025, including his collaborative research with the healthcare sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. His recent studies on long-COVID patients have been acknowledged as significant additions to the field.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) congratulated the faculty and staff, calling the accomplishments a testament to the university’s commitment to high-quality research and academic excellence.
