LAHORE — The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore has secured the 155th position in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Ranking 2026, the university announced on Friday. UVAS also ranked first among Pakistan’s public-sector universities and fourth overall among Pakistani institutions included in the global list.
In a significant individual achievement, Dr Muhammad Suleman, a faculty member from the UVAS Department of Pathology, was awarded a Gold Medal by Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique at the 35th Annual International Conference on Family Medicine.
The honour, conferred by the Academy of Family Physicians of Pakistan, recognizes Dr Suleman’s outstanding dedication and extensive collaborative research with the healthcare sector between 2019 and 2025, including his crucial contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. His recent work on long-COVID patients has been acknowledged as a vital contribution to medicine and public health.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus (DLA.I, T.I) congratulated the faculty and staff, calling the achievements a testament to the university’s academic excellence and its growing global standing.
