Islamabad — Pakistan has begun welcoming renowned Qur’an reciters and judges from across the world as Islamabad prepares to host the International Qira’at Competition from 24 to 27 November, organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The first group of participants has already arrived, including Qari Ahmet from Chad, Qari Abdul Qadir Abdi Wahab Adan from Somalia, and Qari Abu Al-Maal Sawallah from Ghana. Officials from the Ministry received the distinguished guests with a warm welcome at Islamabad International Airport.
A larger delegation is scheduled to arrive today. Among them are Egypt’s international judge Qari Dr. Hamdullah Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim, Bahrain’s Qari Hamzah Muiz Ahmed Ali, Jordan’s Qari Ahmed Bakri Hassan Nawasrah, Palestine’s Qari Nabeel Muhammad Ali Shreibati, Kazakhstan’s Qari Maan Muhammad, Mali’s Qari Diallo Amadou, Burkina Faso’s Qari Diallo Moussa, Mauritania’s Qari Ahmed Ahmed Maskeh, and Comoros’ Qari Abdafu Fadluddin.
The four-day global event is expected to create a spiritually uplifting atmosphere in the Pakistani capital as prominent reciters from around the world gather to compete. According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, all arrangements for the international competition have been finalized.
Renowned Pakistani reciter Qari Sadaqat Ali stated that participants from 40 countries will take part, adding that the competition will be held in accordance with the highest international standards.
