Lahore, November 22, 2025: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has granted bail to senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid in a case related to arson and vandalism during the May 9 unrest in the Mughalpura area.
Judge Manzar Ali Gul heard the bail petition inside Kot Lakhpat Jail, where Dr. Rashid is currently detained. Her legal team argued that several co-accused, including PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry, had already been granted bail in the same case, making her eligible for similar relief.
After reviewing case records and listening to arguments from both sides, the court approved her bail request.
Dr. Rashid has previously been sentenced to 10 years each in three separate May 9 cases. Proceedings on bail petitions in three additional cases are scheduled for November 27. She has already been discharged in the high-profile Jinnah House attack case.
