LAHORE: The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) is witnessing a remarkable surge in its membership as prominent business bodies, trade groups and market associations from across Lahore continue to join the organization. A series of joining ceremonies held at the PIAF Head Office in Gulberg has underscored the group’s growing influence under the leadership of Patron-in-Chief Mian Anjum Nisar, who also serves as Vice President of the SAARC Chamber.
In a significant development, Moazzam Rasheed, Senior Vice President of the Sundar Industrial Estate and formerly associated with the Founders Group, formally joined PIAF. He was accompanied by delegations from the Sundar Industrial Estate Association, Glass Market Cooper Road, Beadon Road traders and representatives from the Chemical Market. The ceremonies drew unprecedented participation from leading traders, industrialists and key market representatives.
During the first ceremony, Moazzam Rasheed’s formal announcement drew a packed audience of business leaders. Presiding over the event, Mian Anjum Nisar presented Rasheed with the official membership certificate, welcoming him into PIAF’s growing fold. Nisar highlighted that the inclusion of influential business figures strengthens PIAF’s position and enhances the performance of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). He added that the growing trust of seasoned business personalities reflects the organization’s three-decade-long record of service, competence and commitment.
Rasheed, who arrived with delegations from multiple trade bodies, praised the leadership and vision of Mian Anjum Nisar. He stated that his decision to join PIAF was based on the group’s consistent advocacy for business interests and its transparent, democratic working style.
PIAF leaders—including Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol, Nasrullah Mughal, Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, Tanzeer Ahmed Sheikh and Muhammad Ali Mian—emphasized that the organization has never engaged in “drawing-room politics.” Instead, they said PIAF has maintained a long-standing tradition of visiting markets, meeting traders directly and conveying their concerns to relevant authorities. They added that the steady stream of new memberships is a testament to PIAF’s credibility and strong performance.
In a separate ceremony, another influential former leader of the Founders Group, Babur Hajveri, joined PIAF along with a large group of supporters including Ahmad Mustafa, Musaddiq Iqbal, Agha Jawad, Malik Aasim and Taimoor Malik. The event drew a large gathering of traders from various markets across Lahore.
Hajveri expressed complete confidence in the leadership of Mian Anjum Nisar and LCCI President Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol, saying he left the Founders Group due to its lack of vision and non-democratic practices. He added that PIAF’s outreach, problem-solving reputation and proven performance made it the most credible platform for the business community.
PIAF leaders warmly welcomed Hajveri and his team, noting that their inclusion would further strengthen the organization’s footprint across the city. They reaffirmed PIAF’s commitment to bringing forward hardworking, capable individuals from every sector, ensuring representation, service delivery and continuity for the business community.
