LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is on course to become the country’s next Prime Minister, emphasizing the party’s renewed public support across Punjab.
Speaking at a meeting with PPP Lahore Division office bearers and workers at the Governor House on Monday, the Governor said the PPP is fully preparing to contest the upcoming local government elections in Punjab. He noted that the party will field strong candidates in line with Chairman Bilawal’s directives.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan urged party workers to set aside internal differences and intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the PPP Foundation Day on November 30, which he said should be marked with “historic enthusiasm.”
He also announced that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to visit Lahore soon to meet local leadership and activists.
Highlighting the party’s commitment to social welfare, the Governor stated that the PPP remains focused on addressing the challenges faced by underprivileged communities.
He added that the Governor House has been transformed into a “people’s Governor House,” open to all political parties and functioning above partisan lines.
The Governor reiterated his belief that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is emerging as the leading candidate to become Pakistan’s next Prime Minister.
