LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office Lahore to review ongoing police development and progress projects.
The meeting discussed the status of various development initiatives, including infrastructure, transport, logistics, arms and ammunition, and the adoption of modern technology. Updates were also reviewed on the upgradation of police lines, inter-provincial check posts, training schools and colleges, smart safe cities, Special Branch, and police offices.
Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the pace of work on smart police stations, safe cities, and other ongoing development projects be accelerated. He stressed that the timely completion of police development schemes under the annual development program is the department’s top priority. He also instructed improved coordination among relevant departments and ensuring the timely provision of funds for development projects.
The meeting was attended by DIG Telecommunication and Transport Imran Ahmar, DIG SPU, Welfare and Finance Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIGs Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, Abdullah Lak, and Nida Umar Chattha. Additional participants, including Additional IG South Punjab Kamran Khan, DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, and DIG CTD, joined via video link.
