WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that his administration has prevented eight global conflicts in the past nine months, adding that he is now working to stop another major war, as efforts toward a Ukraine peace deal advance.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving event at the White House, President Trump said:
“We are getting very close to a Ukraine peace agreement. I stopped eight wars in nine months, and we are working to stop another one.”
Trump acknowledged the scale of the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict, noting that “thousands of soldiers have already been killed,” and said ending the war remains a priority of his foreign policy.
Highlighting domestic achievements, Trump claimed that the United States is experiencing its strongest-ever economic performance, stating:
“Our economy is doing better than ever in history.”
The U.S. president also emphasized enhanced border security, saying his administration has “secured American borders like never before.”
President Trump extended Thanksgiving greetings to the American people during his address.
International analysts are closely watching Washington’s diplomatic posture, particularly Trump’s claims of de-escalating global conflicts—assertions that remain difficult to independently verify but continue to influence global political discussions.
