ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s first International Qira’at Competition continued for a third consecutive day on Wednesday at the Convention Centre, with the semi-final and final rounds scheduled to take place today (Thursday), 27 November. The closing ceremony will be held on Saturday, 29 November.
The global competition features participants aged 25 to 35 from 37 Islamic countries. Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali is serving as the chief coordinator and head judge.

On Wednesday, 13 reciters from Morocco, Türkiye, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Uganda, Iran, Afghanistan, Benin, Togo and Malaysia competed in the third day’s rounds.
By 26 November, participants from six groups had completed their performances. Those shortlisted from these groups will now compete in the semi-final and final rounds today, while the grand closing ceremony will take place on 29 November.
