HASSAN ABDAL, Pakistan — In a swift and decisive action against land encroachment, Tehsildar Hassan Abdal, Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood, successfully recovered a piece of land that had been illegally occupied for 36 years and returned it to its rightful owners, a group of orphaned women from Kot Soundki, Hassan Abdal.

The women had petitioned the Tehsildar after repeated appeals to other authorities went unheard. Their request highlighted that their brothers had been unlawfully occupying the property, denying them their rightful share of inheritance from their father’s estate.
Responding promptly, Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood initiated action and reclaimed the land within five days, handing it over to the affected women. Speaking to journalists, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, stating that they were thankful for the Tehsildar’s swift intervention and praised his commitment to justice.
Tehsildar Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood emphasized that illegal occupation of land belonging to the poor, orphans, and widows will not be tolerated. He warned that no leniency would be granted to the “land mafia” and that such violations would be addressed decisively.
The successful operation has drawn widespread appreciation from local communities, who lauded the Tehsildar for his timely action and commitment to protecting citizens’ rights.
