DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that the Afghan Taliban government has become a threat not only to Pakistan but to the whole region and the world. He said the United States left $7.2 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan during its withdrawal, and this equipment is now being used by terrorists.
The DG ISPR briefed senior journalists on 25 November and shared that since 4 November 2025, Pakistan has carried out 4,910 intelligence-based operations, killing 206 terrorists. This year, a total of 67,023 operations were carried out across the country, in which 1,873 terrorists were killed, including 136 Afghan nationals.
He said that managing the Pak-Afghan border is very difficult because of the tough terrain and scattered villages on both sides. He added that a strong political–terror–crime network operates in the border areas, and non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles are used in suicide attacks.
According to him, Afghan Taliban elements fully facilitate terrorist infiltration into Pakistan. He said that terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS have their leadership in Afghanistan, and Pakistan has shared all evidence with the Afghan authorities.
Pakistan has asked the Afghan Taliban to stop supporting terrorists and to sign a verifiable mechanism to ensure Afghan soil is not used for attacks.
The DG ISPR also said that Iranian diesel smuggling is a major source of terror financing, but strict action has reduced smuggling from 20.5 million liters per day to 2.7 million liters per day.
He added that many anti-Pakistan propaganda accounts on social media are being run from outside the country.
He also criticized recent statements from Indian military leaders, calling them misleading and unrealistic.
