LAHORE: A delegation from the Association of Former Inspectors General of Police (AFIGP), Punjab Chapter, visited the Central Police Office (CPO) Lahore for a high-level meeting on policing, institutional reforms, and service delivery.
The delegation was led by AFIGP Punjab President and former IG Punjab Ahmad Naseem. General Secretary and former Additional IG Ghalib Bandesha, along with former IGs Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan, Tariq Khosa, Altaf Qamar, and other senior retired officers and office-bearers, were also part of the group.
Upon their arrival, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, AIG Admin & Security Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, and other senior officials received the delegation.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar welcomed the former police chiefs and congratulated them on their recent election to AFIGP positions. The meeting discussed matters related to the province’s security landscape, the protection of state institutions, enforcement of writ, policy affairs, police reforms, training, service delivery, and institutional strengthening. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the forum also reviewed issues related to promotions, welfare, capacity-building, and structural reforms within the force.
The former IGs praised the progress achieved under the current Punjab Police leadership and lauded the force for its sustained efforts against terrorism, paying tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices helped restore peace.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the value of continued engagement with former police chiefs, stating that their expertise and guidance have significantly contributed to improving professional standards within the force.
AFIGP President Ahmad Naseem announced that the Association will organise regular seminars and training sessions aimed at enhancing the professional skills, training, and grooming of police personnel.
