New regional body aims to streamline travel across Gulf countries
DUBAI: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has officially launched a GCC-wide aviation authority, coinciding with the expansion of the one-stop travel entry pilot program aimed at simplifying cross-border travel across member states.
The newly established authority will serve as a centralized regulatory and coordination body for aviation operations, safety, and passenger facilitation throughout the GCC.
Officials said the initiative is designed to enhance efficiency, reduce paperwork, and provide a seamless travel experience for both business and leisure travelers across the region.
The one-stop travel entry system, which is currently being piloted, allows passengers to complete all entry and clearance procedures in a single step, minimizing delays and improving airport operations. The GCC authority will oversee the rollout and monitor its effectiveness across all member countries.
