LAHORE: Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF), established under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has shown remarkable performance within just three months, Secretary Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Punjab Muhammad Masood Mukhtar said.
Speaking at a performance review meeting, he said the Chief Minister’s clear directives and zero-tolerance policy have helped CNF become a modern and highly efficient force in the fight against drugs.
Since August 2025, CNF has conducted 269 intelligence-based operations across Punjab, seizing over 13.2 tons of narcotics valued at nearly Rs 310 million. The operations also led to the arrest of hundreds of suspects, registration of 156 FIRs, and recovery of 56 illegal weapons, 11 quadcopters, and other equipment used by drug syndicates.
Secretary Masood Mukhtar highlighted the recent conviction of two major drug traffickers in Faisalabad, each sentenced to 14 years in prison and fined Rs 400,000, calling it a “landmark judicial action” that sends a strong message against drug trafficking.
He emphasized public participation in the anti-drugs campaign, noting that the CNF helpline 1012 operates 24/7 for reporting drug-related activities confidentially.
Concluding the meeting, he reaffirmed CNF’s mission: “Our goal is clear—A Drug-Free Punjab.”
