RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan’s military spokesperson has declared that the Pakistan Army will remain as long as the state exists, reaffirming that the armed forces have sworn an oath to defend the country and will continue to stand on the side of truth.
He criticized political narratives questioning the military’s role, stating, “Security cannot be achieved through charity. If charity ensured safety, Gaza would not be in crisis. Will Pakistan’s security guarantees come from Kabul?” He cautioned that such statements only strengthen hostile elements.
Responding to claims that the army “cannot fight,” the spokesperson said the Pakistan Army had already proved its capability during the “Battle for Truth,” led by the Field Marshal. “We were on the right side, we are on the right side, and we will remain on the right side,” he asserted.
He added that the Army is not going anywhere: “As long as Pakistan exists, the Army will exist. Some individuals harbor deep animosity towards the Pakistan Army, but we remain committed to protecting the state.”
On the question of placing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Governor’s Rule, the spokesperson clarified that the authority rests entirely with the government, emphasizing that the Army does not interfere in political decisions.
