Islamabad—Muhammad Saleem
Pakistan’s Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, in a major address to officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force at the newly established Defence Forces Headquarters, described the restructuring as a “historic and transformative milestone” for the country’s security architecture.
He stated that with evolving regional threats and rapidly changing warfare domains, strengthening multi-domain operations under a unified tri-services command has become essential. The formation of the Defence Forces Headquarters, he added, marks a decisive step toward enhancing integrated operational capability.
While assuring that each service will retain its operational autonomy and professional identity, he emphasized that the new headquarters will serve as the central coordinating mechanism for synchronized tri-services planning and operations.
Delivering a strong warning to India, the Chief of Defence Forces said New Delhi must not fall victim to “miscalculation or self-deception,” asserting that any future provocation will be met with an even faster and more forceful response from Pakistan.
Regarding Afghanistan, he said the Taliban regime has received a clear and unequivocal message: they must choose between Pakistan or the extremist “Khawarij” elements—there is no third option.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, he noted:
“Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, but no one will be allowed to undermine our sovereignty, territorial integrity, or national resolve.”
He concluded that Pakistan’s defence remains “invincible,” secured by “faith-driven soldiers and the unwavering determination of a united nation.”
