ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s progress cannot be achieved through “magic or illusions” but only through consistent hard work, national unity, and commitment. He was addressing an Ulema Convention in Islamabad, which was also attended by Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The Prime Minister stressed that economic development and terrorism cannot co-exist, stating that no country can move forward while battling internal conflict and external threats simultaneously.
He said Pakistan’s economy is now moving rapidly towards stability and growth, adding that until a spirit of national cohesion is established, real progress will remain out of reach.
PM Shehbaz Sharif warned that mocking the sacrifices of the armed forces damages Pakistan’s global image, and urged all sectors — including religious scholars — to counter hostile propaganda against the military.
He called it the “Battle of Truth”, saying Pakistan has recently achieved a significant victory, made possible by the prayers of the nation and the tireless efforts of every soldier.
He added that defending the Pakistan Armed Forces against malicious campaigns is the responsibility of the government, scholars, and the entire nation.
The Ulema Convention highlighted a unified message: national solidarity, respect for institutions, and collective hard work are essential for Pakistan’s long-term progress and security.
