Severe fog has disrupted daily life across various districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting authorities to shut down multiple motorways due to extremely low visibility.
According to the Motorway Police, M-2 from Lahore to Kot Sarwar has been closed for traffic. Similarly, M-3 from Rajana to Darkhana, M-4 from Faisalabad to Multan, and M-5 from Multan’s Sher Shah Interchange to Zahir Pir have also been shut down.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, traffic on M-1 from Peshawar to Rashakai has been suspended due to thick fog.
Meanwhile, air pollution remains a major concern in central Punjab. According to a global environmental monitoring website, at 9 a.m. Thursday the particulate matter (AQI) levels were recorded as follows:

Multan: 261
Lahore: 218
Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and urged motorists to use fog lights and exercise caution on the roads.
