LAHORE: On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the weekly General Parade was conducted across the province, including Lahore. Senior police officers inspected the contingents, which presented a formal salute during the parade.
The parade featured participation from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, and officers from the Investigation and Operations Wings of various police stations. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, senior officers also checked the turnout and readiness of personnel. The contingents demonstrated discipline and precision in an impressive march past, with female officers actively participating as well.
The spokesperson added that General Parades are organized regularly every Monday across the province. District officers also inspected units including the Kot, Motor Transport Wing, Miscellaneous Stores, and Uniform Warehouse.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said the parade serves to maintain alertness, discipline, unity, and camaraderie among police personnel. “The parade is the best manifestation of the discipline, history, heritage, and tradition of any force,” he said, noting that it also helps personnel maintain fitness and enhances the overall performance of the police force.
