Bajaur: Police Officer and Civilian Killed in Attack on Polio Team Protection

Bajaur (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) – A police officer assigned to protect a polio vaccination team and a passerby were killed in a shooting incident in Salarzai Tehsil, Bajaur.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO), a large security force has been deployed in the area, and raids are underway to apprehend the suspects. The funeral prayer for the slain officer was held at the Police Lines in Civil Colony, attended by the Deputy Commissioner, DPO, and other civil and military officials.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi condemned the attack, stating that targeting a polio team is an assault on humanity and the national duty. He added that the sacrifices of polio workers and the officers assigned to protect them will always be remembered by the nation.
