Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Ukraine could lose additional territory if it fails to act on peace proposals reportedly associated with former US President Donald Trump.
In a statement, Putin said that if the opposing side continues to avoid dialogue, Russia would pursue what he described as the “liberation” of territories through military means. He emphasized that Moscow remains open to negotiations but will not hesitate to use force to achieve its objectives.
“Should diplomatic efforts be rejected, Russia will secure its interests and territories through military methods,” the Russian president said.
The Kremlin further stated that Moscow could expand its territorial gains in Ukraine through military power if the conflict continues without progress toward talks.
The remarks come amid ongoing fighting and renewed international debate over potential peace initiatives, as diplomatic efforts to end the war remain stalled.
