Islamabad, December 2025 — The Islamabad Police Security Division has successfully maintained security, stability, and law and order in the federal capital throughout 2025, ensuring protection for government buildings, embassies, diplomats, and prominent national and international personalities.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasized improving the image of Islamabad Police to align with international standards, making it a top priority. Under his leadership, the Security Division undertook several reforms and initiatives to modernize operations and strengthen protective measures.
Key initiatives included the upgrade of Naka Serena under the “Good Luck Policy” to meet contemporary security requirements. To ensure rapid response for Chinese nationals residing in Islamabad, a Panic Alert System was introduced in the Special Protection Unit’s control room. Additionally, an electrified wire system was activated around the Diplomatic Enclave, and modern Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras were installed at entry points for enhanced vehicle monitoring.
Open conferences were held with embassy security officers to discuss reforms and address concerns, while integrated security measures were implemented in the Red Zone and Extended Red Zone to maintain law and order.
The Security Division provided robust protection for 14 National Assembly sessions, 15 Senate sessions, three joint sessions, 10 national and international conferences, and 969 national and international events. Moreover, security was ensured for 19 international VVIP delegations, including Pakistan Super League (PSL) events and foreign cricket teams.
Following the establishment of the Police Service Center “Cascade,” 2,652 members of the diplomatic community benefited from police services, while 7,044 availed themselves of services related to learner permits, renewals, and driving licenses.
The year also saw record promotions within the Security Division, and “Ghazi Week” was celebrated to honor the bravery and service of Islamabad Police heroes (Ghazis), who received certificates and gifts as a token of appreciation.
In line with the Green Pakistan Campaign, the division actively participated in tree plantation initiatives within the Diplomatic Enclave, engaging both police personnel and the community.
DIG Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir stated that the Security Division continues to take comprehensive measures to provide foolproof security for diplomats, delegations, important personalities, and sensitive installations. “Our goal is to safeguard peace and stability while strengthening Pakistan’s image internationally,” he added.
