An Indian national has been arrested for illegally crossing into Pakistani territory in the Kasur district, officials said on Saturday.
According to security sources, the individual was detained by Pakistan Rangers in the Sahajra area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ganda Singh police station. The arrested man has been identified as Sharandeep Singh, a resident of Shahkot tehsil in Jalandhar district, India.
Officials stated that Sharandeep Singh had unlawfully entered Pakistan when Rangers personnel took immediate action and detained him. Following initial questioning, the Rangers handed him over to the local police for further legal proceedings.
Police officials at Ganda Singh police station confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the border violation, while legal action will be taken in accordance with Pakistani law.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the illegal crossing.
