LAHORE: On the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, weekly General Parades were held across the province, including the provincial capital, with senior police officers inspecting the contingents and reviewing preparedness.
During the parades, participating contingents presented salutes, while officers and personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Ladies Police, Investigation Wing, and Operations Wing police stations took part in full strength.
A Punjab Police spokesperson said senior officers reviewed the turnout, discipline, and overall readiness of officers and personnel during the parade. The well-prepared contingents presented an impressive march past, with female police personnel also actively participating.
The spokesperson added that General Parades are conducted regularly every Monday across all districts of the province. On the occasion, district police officers also inspected police facilities, including Kot, Motor Transport Wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouses, and other relevant sections, to ensure operational efficiency.
Speaking on the occasion, IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said the primary objective of the General Parade is to keep police personnel alert, disciplined, and unified, while fostering a spirit of brotherhood within the force.
He emphasized that parades are a strong reflection of a force’s discipline, history, heritage, and traditions, adding that regular parades help officers and personnel maintain physical fitness, which in turn enhances the overall performance and professionalism of the Punjab Police.
