LAHORE — Secretary and Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to national service, stating that he will continue to serve the country wherever the government assigns him.
He was speaking at a farewell ceremony organised by the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department, marking the conclusion of his tenure as Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Punjab.
Dr. Bhutta said that all initiatives undertaken during his tenure were fully aligned with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote the province, preserve its rich cultural and historical heritage, and develop tourism as a key driver of economic growth. He added that, in his current role, he would continue working to strengthen the Auqaf Department in accordance with the Chief Minister’s directives, with a focus on improved management and enhanced facilitation for devotees at the shrines of renowned Buzurgan-e-Deen across Punjab.
The farewell ceremony was attended by Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Punjab Socrat Aman Rana, Managing Director of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Asim Raza, Director Lahore Museum Taseer Ahmed, Additional Secretary Waqar Ahmed, former Additional Secretary Sadaf Zafar, Deputy Secretary (Administration) Ammar Jajja, Deputy Secretary (Planning) Shumaila Manzoor, Deputy Controller Department of Tourist Services Hafiz Ghazanfer, Director Archaeology Maqsood Ahmed, General Manager Operations Farhat Hussain, General Manager Administration Noor Ahmed, General Manager Finance Dr. Najeeb Ahmed, and other senior officers.
Dr. Bhutta highlighted the significant potential of the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department to attract both local and international investors, thereby creating new opportunities in the tourism sector. He said that during his tenure he devoted maximum effort to the rehabilitation, preservation, and protection of ancient and heritage buildings across the province.
He also extended his best wishes to his successor and expressed confidence that ongoing and future projects would continue with the same level of dedication and professionalism.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Punjab Socrat Aman Rana praised Dr. Bhutta’s services, describing his contributions to the department as exemplary during his tenure.
