LAHORE — The Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab organised a simple yet dignified ceremony in Lahore to celebrate Christmas, underscoring its commitment to interfaith harmony and the protection of minority rights.
Vice Chairman OPC Punjab Barrister Amjad Malik and Commissioner OPC Punjab Ms. Saman Rai cut the Christmas cake alongside officers and staff, marking the festive occasion in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Amjad Malik extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community and emphasised that all religions in Pakistan are accorded equal respect. He said that interfaith harmony forms the foundation of national unity, progress, and social stability.
He further stated that OPC Punjab considers the protection of minority rights a fundamental responsibility and actively participates in the celebrations of minority communities to promote inclusion and mutual respect.
The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to peace, love, and brotherhood, reflecting the spirit of Christmas and the shared values of coexistence and tolerance.
