Pakistan’s military leadership has warned that no individual or group will be allowed to undermine national unity, security, or stability, regardless of political affiliation or background, during the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference was chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The forum began with prayers for the soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist attacks, paying tribute to their sacrifices.
The commanders strongly condemned terrorism and reiterated that all terrorists, facilitators, and abettors allegedly backed by India will be dealt with decisively and without leniency. The forum also praised those defending the country against terrorism, including security personnel confronting threats inspired or supported from abroad.
ISPR said Field Marshal Asim Munir commended the unwavering courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly in intelligence-based counterterrorism operations conducted across the country.
The forum categorically rejected any nexus between terrorism, criminal networks, and political interests, stressing that attempts to destabilize Pakistan or create divisions between the armed forces and the public would not be tolerated.
Field Marshal Munir stated that Pakistan is gradually but steadily moving toward stability, attributing this progress to joint efforts by the government and the armed forces, as well as the steadfast support of the Pakistani people. He said these efforts are helping the country move toward greater dignity and respect on the global stage.
The conference reviewed the internal and external security environment, emphasizing preparedness to counter evolving threats. Participants also underscored that no attempt to create discord between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan will be allowed.
The forum appreciated the Balochistan government’s special development initiatives, noting that such measures help address governance-related drivers of terrorism through social engagement. Similar initiatives were recommended for other regions to ensure lasting peace and stability.
The commanders reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and reiterated the country’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unrestricted humanitarian access, and a credible pathway toward a Palestinian state.
At the conclusion of the conference, the Army Chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, innovation, and battlefield professionalism.
