Islamabad: Pakistan’s Supreme Court has dismissed petitions filed by the Sindh government challenging the implementation of the deceased employees’ quota, upholding earlier directives issued by the Sindh High Court.
The High Court had ordered provincial authorities to provide government jobs to the legal heirs of deceased public employees under the quota system between 2019 and 2023. Maintaining the High Court’s ruling, the Supreme Court issued a final verdict, effectively clearing the way for enforcement of those orders.
Legal experts describe the decision as a significant development for the families of deceased government workers, while the Sindh government is now bound to comply with the High Court’s directives without further delay.
