LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, has extended New Year greetings to the nation on the advent of New Year 2026, expressing hope that the year will bring peace, stability, development, and prosperity for Pakistan.
In his New Year message, the minister said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the provincial government remains firmly committed to upholding the rule of law, ensuring timely and affordable justice, and implementing comprehensive judicial and legal reforms.
He said that concrete steps would be taken in the new year to make the justice system more effective, transparent, and accessible to the public. Emphasizing good governance, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said the protection of citizens’ life and property, promotion of human rights, and strict enforcement of the Constitution and the law remain among the government’s top priorities.
The minister reiterated the government’s resolve to further strengthen the prosecution system, expand legal aid mechanisms, and enhance the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) framework to ensure speedy disposal of cases and reduce the burden on courts.
He added that coordination and cooperation with the legal fraternity, judiciary, and law enforcement agencies would be further strengthened to address challenges in the justice delivery system more effectively.
Expressing optimism for the year ahead, the Provincial Law Minister said he hoped that 2026 would foster national unity, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law, and that all state institutions would continue to operate within the constitutional framework to advance public service and good governance.
