LAHORE, Pakistan – Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), stated on Wednesday that fair taxation policies and responsible corporate participation are the cornerstones of sustainable economic growth and improved revenue generation in Pakistan.
Speaking during a meeting with Dr. Faisal Hashmi, Senior Director of Coca-Cola PACS (Pakistan & Afghanistan Region), Saigol emphasized that the current taxation structures pose significant challenges by increasing the cost of doing business. Both leaders discussed the need for an equitable tax environment that provides a level playing field for both multinational and local brands.
During the session, Dr. Hashmi presented a Socio-Economic Impact Study highlighting Coca-Cola’s contributions to the national economy, including job creation and value addition across its supply chain. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s fiscal goals while advocating for a broader tax base to enhance revenue collection.
The LCCI President praised Coca-Cola as a responsible corporate citizen and reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to working with leading organizations to strengthen Pakistan’s economic landscape. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the need for constructive tax reforms that benefit both the government and the business community.
